In "Cyber Mother 2" my speculation is considering if there are, or will be, any myths about robot reproduction. If there were, the organic reproductive process would be replaced by a mechanistic one. In my imagination, however, even a mechanical process of generation could be dramatic and even traumatic. In the combination of elements that are both figurative and abstract, I am trying to express the alienation of the human self that, not infrequently, is bound up with specialized mechanization.

As an artist, I am exploring the Lost Paradise myth with all its beauty, violence and liberation. I blend our new icons of mass-produced toys, computer-game heroes and social net symbols with the meta-narratives seen in different Mythologies. In addition to Classical Mythology, I draw ideas from other traditions, for instance, ancient civilization in South America, as described by Levi-Strauss. These too may be juxtaposed with the contemporary PokemonGo game. Such a blending poses the question as to whether the modern world offers construction in decolonial processes or a new form of exploitation? The Gods and Heroes of ancient mythology have mutated and are now embodied in the virtual-reality of computer games. These have become the new fetishes of mass-culture and have assumed their new "flesh" in the plastic of commercial toys. Thus I am contriving an evolution of this subject-matter, and it is this that comprises my interpretation and representation of modern History Painting. As media for my art practice, I use traditional oil painting, but also experiment, to a considerable extent in a modernist way, by mixing different solvents and raw materials; using these to create texture as a distinctive background, an empty stage for my future figurative paintings.
