Dance of the umbrellas Print

This work was inspired by the patterns that emerged one day as I looked down on a huge square in Italy. It began to rain and suddenly 100 umbrellas shot up, like flowers, and danced around as people negotiated their way across the square. In this painting, I wanted to pose the question - is this dance of the umbrellas about one person, or about all of us? This oil painting is 30 inches by 30 inches - or 76cm squared. It is made from a sturdy canvas construction - it's a deep edged canvas, unframed, painted uniformly black along the sides. The colours are deep and vibrant - people love it when they see it in person, and I hope you do too.
