I have lived and worked in Mariupol, Ukraine for the most part of my life. I worked as a furniture and interior designer, wrote poetry and stories, and for the last years I have been working as a translator. In 2014, I proposed to the city mayor an option for reconstructing the central square of the city of Mariupol, decorating it with doves of peace and calling it Peace Avenue, and these proposals were brought to life later. I loved Mariupol, and only the war and destruction of the city forced me to move from there. I spent 21 days in a siege, I saw many horrible things. But in my paintings I tried to express not the horrors of war, but the beauties of my beloved city and sometimes the sadness for things we've lost.
