Retro windows, with an abundance of flowers growing over fills my heart with warmth so this is a subject I like to work with every now and again! I used the colour red as summer is setting in with its intense warmth that permeates the earth much like love and friendship the essential ingredients of life! I reflected on the joy of lasting friendship and celebrated that with bold strokes of colour and large blossoms that hang over adding great cheer! The wooden weather beaten door also depicts great friendship that stands the test of time! Fittingly the title of this painting is my dear friends nickname, who's long standing friendship inspired this painting!

Art classes and a formal study of Commercial Art led the artist to spend 20 successful years across India in Advertising. After which she decided to take a break and travel beyond the shores of her country. Towards the end of her long holiday a fortune cookie threw up a message “Its okay to slow down and smell the roses”. She says the message helped her pursue a long standing passion in Fine Art. In time spent building her own Communication - Art Design setup smelling her sister requested her to pick up her brush again to fill some blank wall spaces. The experience was fulfilling, the love for art and its creation still intact and creating for the sheer pleasure of it, was very peaceful and fulfilling! Now the artist spends time between Delhi and a tiny Himalayan Hamlet. Currently where her Fine Art passion is concerned, she is in a space where she feels meditative painting Lotus Lakes, enjoys playing with photography with her art for a kitchen art series. Else she is creating some old world charm with street scenes, doors and windows always with a profusion of flowers. Her reason being that she has a brown thumb and not a green one, so the only place her plants and flowers thrive is on her canvas.
