About The Artwork
This painting was created during a recent difficult period in my life. Like many artists I struggled to find inspiration during lockdown in 2020 and then after lockdown in 2021 I struggled again to create something which felt like good work. I then started to think about how to fight this and get back to creating, this is when I started to dream of creatures fighting for survival. I felt the dreams were like angel warriors being sent to me to protect me and this empowered me. So they are a blend of angel/warrior/protector, this painting in particular is a loosely based self portrait as the power to create is now back in my hands and my dreams (at least for the near future) will continue to be the subject of my work.
