About The Artwork

Sicilian symbol - ficodindia cactus. This small and cozy painting will decorate your home and bring a Sicilian summer into it. Fichi d'India spreading like a crown of thorns over the hills. It is an absolutely mesmerizing sight. You may ask, why Indian? Yes, the story is quite interesting. The fact is that this exotic fruit came to Sicily, and to the entire Mediterranean, at the end of the 15th century, after the discovery of the New World. Since Columbus and the rest of the travelers of the Old World were convinced that they were sailing to India, they named the plant brought from there – the Indian fig. This is nothing more than the fruits of the prickly pear cactus, common in Mexico and Central America. Prickly pear has perfectly taken root in the arid climate of the Mediterranean and quickly spread to fertile lands. The tops of the stems bloom, and then bear large juicy fruits.

Welcome to my Saatchi Collection. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Commissions are welcome. If you need a special painting of your favorite landscapes or flowers just contact me! Based in Sicily Italy I was fond of drawing since my childhood. Actually, I'm not entirely self-taught, I have 4 classes of art school, but at school I had no desire to draw. The teachers taught only academic painting and didn't allow any creativity. That's how I tripped my inspiration for 5 years. I didn't start going to art school again. One day, just for fun, I put my work for sale in my mom's store, and the painting was immediately bought! This moment inspired me to paint again, because I saw that people really enjoy my work. I didn't go to art school again. I began to study by myself. The main thing that motivates me is when I see that the bright colors of my work makes people smile and plunge into this positive atmosphere. The main motivating thing for me is understanding that bright colors of my work makes people smile and plunge into this positive atmosphere. My works are painted with watercolors. I really love this particular style because the watercolor makes the paintings light. And you have no room for mistake. The watercolor cannot be overlapped. Everything should work out the first time. So thank you for your time. Enjoy my work!
