About The Artwork

Fire represents both, good and bad; it give us warm, it is associated with comunity, family, but also sexuality, desire; fire as well means danger, it's devastating, uncompromised, among human's emotion represent anger. As 30-years old woman, full of love and anger, I felt like I want to paint it, to make it an object possible to analyse, look from the distance, stop for a while and admire. This is the second from the serie of emotional imaginary landscapes "FIRE", oil paint on panel.

Art is a dust, that persistently settles in the corners of my studio, swept away by design education. For some time now, I have stopped fighting it, letting it connect me with its translucent layer with areas, that elude understanding, remaining a discussion without conclusions and developed solutions. Art is seemingly pointless, but, following Marshall Rosenberg, I think that it is not pointless to enrich our lives with elements of fun, self-expression, experiment, and that we all dream of getting out of the hamster wheel of productivity for a while. Therefore, when I reach for painting, photography, drawing, illustration, lettering - I allow myself! I am Kama Czechowska, polish painter currently living on the Iberian Peninsula. I am nomad, minimalist, vegetarian; founder of Petricora Studio; author of "This is not a tomato" cookbook - a recipe book about art (of cooking). I went on foot from Poland to Portugal. I painted for italian mafia. I'm self-proclaimed goddaughter of Julio Cortázar and Gertrude Stein. I have many stories to say, and I'm doing it trough art.
