I wondered for a long time why my art is the way it is, I did not try to evaluate it, but I wanted to understand where it comes from and what it says. The answer came with time by itself. I saw that my art is an expression of love for my father, love that is difficult and unexpressed. Dad did not agree that I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, because he had prejudices and wanted to protect me, thinking that I would fall into sex, alcohol & drugs. My father was an engineer and he had a negative opinion of art schools. However, this is not one of those sad stories. It’s a story about the beautiful, deep love between a daughter and her father. The father, full of love, protects his daughter as best he can. The daughter, trusting him, gives up her artistic passion. But after years, she returns to it, forgiven and full of love, dedicating her art to him. I give away what I have the most precious. I put into practice the amazing miracle of constant creation and thanks to that I achieve freedom and happiness. Everything in this world except love is an invention or an illusion. The canvas already used, worn out, on the threshold of being thrown away, is always useful. It contains time and the remains of what has passed. Painting fabrics restore the traces of activities and states of childhood: discovering, appearing against gray and boredom, growing up, windbreak with a meadow pattern, big dreams in the head, some fear, cut sheets, the first bold designs, delight... Fabrics, a wealth of textures, intriguing layers, memories... I promised myself that I would never throw away beautiful pieces of fabric... canvases and sheets invite me to the creation... it is still alive and let it stay... as long as possible.
