About The Artwork
This painting is inspired by our shift from analog technology to digital technology - the loss of DVDs, the way we listen to music, the way we absorb entertainment. It is a nod to one of my favorite comedians, Jerry Seinfeld, who made New York & Jewish Culture more mainstream. This nod is contrasted both visually and conceptually with it's counterpart of a library burned copy of the Dybbuk from 1937. These colorful, abstract & conceptual paintings are meant to elicit curiosity, and thoughtfulness in the viewer and a respect for old and new technologies, ways of storytelling and human connection.

Danielle Friedman is an artist and educator born in New York. Their work is an investigation into home. Woven with an art historical thread, they are inspired by human relationships, material play & the world of interior design. Following a degree in Studio Art from Brandeis University, they moved to Mexico City in 2009 as recipient of a Mortimer-Hays Fellowship to design and produce a line of handmade fluorescent oil paint. They earned their MFA in Painting & Printmaking at Yale University in 2015 & is a recent artist-in-resident at Dumfries House Scotland, GAKKO Project in Japan & Fountainhead Residency in Miami.
