Senshi, meaning fighter in Japanese, is the third painting in my Japan in Gold series. It is the portrait of a japanese woman who is preparing for a fight. The bands which she is wrapping her hands with are made of gold lead, to give them a sense of "magic" so that we know that she will be the winner in the fight she is going to face, whatever this may be. Real or inner. The background wall is textured with acrylic paste and enriched with graffiti which combines modernity to ancient traditions, just like everything in Japan, which is a mix of these two aspects.
