About The Artwork

Urban Light is a large-scale assemblage sculpture located at the Wilshire Boulevard entrance to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The installation consists of 202 actual historical street lamps from the 1920s and 1930s. Sadly, this installation's creator, artist Chris Burden, passed away in 2015. As a tribute to his creative energy I have painted a rainy night scene of the street lamps in a style that is evocative of the classic film noir genre of the 1940's and 1950's
