About The Artwork

This work was inspired by medieval legend about an event in one manor house during the Hundred Years' War. A landlord`s manor was occupied by enemy troops. The landlord's daughter decided to entertain the enemy knights in order to reduce the vigilance of their guards and to allow its own troops to entry into the camp. She said she knew a magic dance which can give more power to soldiers. To gather as many knights as possible in the central square, she asked them to hold a wooden ring in the air, on which she danced all night through. This artwork is made on paper by combining painting and drawing techniques. The drawing is done using charcoal, graphite, ink and also wax crayon. The original dimension is 165x170 cm.

Dreams inspire most of my creative work. In my view, dreams are of great value because they store a large number of ideas, stories and characters. I think also that some dreams bring a message which can be important to someone. So I want to share them with other people. In my artworks I try to find the optimal balance between drawing and painting. I am fascinated by the black and white free-line-drawing which is very lightweight and able to perfectly convey any character. In its turn the color is important to express the general mood or to put accents. After studying in art academies, I continue to experiment and to improve this technique on paper and on canvas using ink and chalk crayons for drawing.
