About The Artwork
Bettine was my mother-in-law and we met when I was only 15. She had two sons and no daughters and relished doing girlie things with me. The painting is a fond memory of spending time with her. She had beautiful thick hair which was grey/white from her late twenties. Stunning hair really, and she loved the fuss of me combing it. She said it made her purr! The picture is loosely painted, and evocative.
