About The Artwork
Looking at old pictures of Liverpool's harbour gave me this idea. I drew just about 20 quick sketches on paper before knowing that the last one was going to end up on a canvas. I love sketching very quickly, not allowing my brain to intervene too much in the process. Instead, messages from the collective unconscious and feelings deep inside me guide my hand. After 10 to 20 minutes, I take a look at the many sketches I've made, and there's always one of them that tells me it has to be done in big size with acrylic on canvas.
