About The Artwork
Abstract painting, landscape, 11in x 11in, ready to hang, unframed . I like to think of my color field paintings like Mark Rothko and Pat Steir had a baby in the nineties. My process is all about capturing a liquid horizon with the technique of building translucent layers of color by pouring the paint directly onto the surface. I mix cups of color glazes and pour them onto panels and canvas allowing the paint to pool,drip,blend and blur. I control the flow of paint across the surface by tilting and turning the structure. The surface builds layer by layer until a completed landscape emerges weeks or even months after it was first poured.

Hello ! I live and make art in beautiful Historic Savannah, GA. If you're ever in town you'll find my artwork at the Kobo Gallery and Shop SCAD. I find inspiration in all the colors and textures that surround me. The sky meeting the ground, the stained cement after a morning rain, peeling blue paint on an old pay-phone, are all apart of the objects of my artistic affection.
