MIrror Print

This painting is a self-portrait. I was visiting an art deco house in Miami Beach and loved the pinks and greens reflected in the mirror.  I like to show that it seems that the self-portrait was a reflection in a mirror that captured the beautiful pinks and greens of the surroundings. This suggests that the painting was not just a representation of the artist's appearance but also a reflection of their environment and the mood that it inspired. I used a look for an instant of action rather than a posed expression. I aim to capture a moment of spontaneity and authenticity, rather than a carefully constructed image. Self-portraits have been a popular subject for artists throughout history, and they offer a unique opportunity for the artist to explore and express their own identity and inner world. In this case, I intend to not only capture my physical appearance but also convey a sense of the moment and the environment in which they were painting.
