"Mountains from Shangri La" Print

REVIEW My name is Luis Cáceres Sagués, my artistic name is "Sagués", I am a visual artist from the city of Concepción Chile (South America). My work is made mainly of acrylic on canvas. I chose this technique for the following reasons: because of its bright pigments; because it allows adding layers with a short drying time that facilitates the execution and application of glazes; it can also be worked in thin layers like watercolor or with thick brushstrokes and a spatula. I also work with the oil and mixed technique. My painting is figurative and a mixture of styles ranging from: realism, hyperrealism, magical realism and fantasy themes close to surrealism. In my work I do a re-interpretation of reality, I do not seek to pretend to emulate a photograph or make a simple mimesis, preserving a pictorial language in it. In addition to being a painter, I am a photographer and I am always looking to capture images that are interesting for me to take to a work and I am always in continuous observation of the reality that surrounds me. Currently the environment and ecology are topics that interest me more and more and together with this I want to bring nature to the viewer and denounce the destruction that affects it. Painting is for me a channel to transmit my perception of the world, my vision and emotions.
