Ahmed Al Azzawi's biography Ahmed Al Azzawi, the founder and director of the Azzawi Art Foundation was born in Baghdad, Iraq, 1/1/1972. Throughout most of his life, he has been brought up in a diverse and multicultural environment where he found himself integrated within different scopes in the field of art. Ahmed speaks fluent English, and Arabic, as well as a little French, German, Russian, Urdu, and Japanese - and loves to communicate with people from different cultures. From a very early age, Ahmed began his enrichment in art through his love to play music on many different types of instruments, including the piano and the traditional oud while also enjoying singing as well. In his early 20’s, thanks to his love of singing, he produced a song that was shown on Iraqi television. Additionally, Ahmed also enjoyed drawing, paintings, sculpting, ceramics and acting. In the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E), Ahmed became further engaged in different aspects of the field of Art and thus advancing his knowledge within the field. Ahmed met with many artists from all around the globe, allowing him to learn many valuable lessons from a variety of different professional artists who attended shows and exhibitions. With his ever-growing love and passion for the world of art combined with his hard work and training, Ahmed received a formal approval from the Emirates Fine Art Society and was recognized as an active member of their association, participating in many of their programs and exhibitions. Moreover, he also showcased his first solo art exhibition titled, “Spaces”, in The Sharjah Arab Cultural Center in the year 2005, which was covered by newspapers and television media. In 2013, Ahmed immigrated to the United States of America. His primary dream and goal in the U.S. was to study and expand his knowledge in the field of art. He yearned to accomplish this goal as soon as possible and thus in the year 2018, he earned his Associate’s in Art, and in the same year he transferred to the University of California San Diego. There, he graduated in January of 2020 and earned his Bachelors of Arts, Major Visual Art “Studio”, with Honors and the title of “Cum Laude”. Ahmed still passionately pursues further growth and development in the field of art, which is why he has been accepted to Lesley University and currently completing a Master’s in Fine Arts in Visual Arts program.
