About The Artwork
This is a portrait of the German artist of Afghan origin who came to art-residence in the small town on the East of Ukraine, where I live and work presently. This region, with the historic memories mostly of Soviet times and some of Tsar Russia, used to be inhabited byTurkic tribes and regularly visited by Asian nomads. These associations together made me paint this composition and figure of James Bond in the upper right corner is another common cultural fenomenon for me and my model.
