I love watching the Sandhill cranes that move into our area in the spring. There's something very captivating about them, the way the walk, move and fly and talk to each other. I love that they seem to always find a way to keep their feet wet and they enjoy it. I hope viewers will love the stance of this crane, how it holds it's body and how it is so much like a real crane in it's being. The colors invoke peace and calm and sense of enjoyment for nature and the simplicity it holds at moments in time. I painted this on an old piece of wood grain board we had in our barn. I loved the look and feel of it and thought it would be perfect for a painting. It is absolutely wonderful and the texture just make this not only pop, but adds to the overall feel of the crane.
