My beloved terrier mix, Nugett, passed away in March of 2022. Because she loved basking in the sun so much, I created this painting as a tribute inspired from a cherished photo. Gouache with a small touch of Oil Pastels.

Although most of my background is in writing and music, I reacquainted myself with painting when Covid and retirement coincided. I enjoy painting nature studying the play of light in sun shadows as well as experimenting alongside abstract ideas, practicing a passion for color using gouache and sometimes oil pastels in fascination of the process, loving that place where imagination ignites a grand affair with color. Dedicated to my mother, as she so enjoyed painting near the end of her short life.
