About The Artwork
One Hundred Acres was painted from studies from a road trip to Swan Hill on the Murray River, The sense of space on this unfenced paddock of recently harvested wheat was liberating. Sgraffito techniques have been used in ceramics and painting for many years, Vincent VanGogh supposedly used the technique of creation marks through ayers of paint on his paintings of wheat fields, and inspired some thought behind this work.
