Palavas les flots, a few kilometres from Montpellier is a fishing harbor and important resort on the Mediterranean sea in the 'Hérault département'. The town is divided in two parts(left bank, right bank) by the Lez, locally called the 'canal', a very short river starting in the Southern Cévennes and joining the sea in Palavas, about 100ms from where that was painted. This oil on a linen canvas was realized from February to June 2020 using the glazing technique (several transparent layers of paint gradually added on top of each other). The artist used watercolours made on location as studies. In this painting you can feel the atmosphere of Palavas: people selling fish straight from the boat, fishing boats, restaurants, shops and their reflections in water.... This oil is framed (see additional photo) and ready to hang. It can also be sold without a frame (but ready to hang). Dimensions without the frame:61x50 cm
