About The Artwork
This artwork belongs to a series I developed based on the concept of Panta Rhei by the pre-socratic philosopher Heraclitus. He states that "All is Flux", i.e. life is like a river which is constantly in movement. I used the painted cotton strings to represent the flux of time referred to by Heraclitus, whereas the surface would mean the space on which we live. This work also has a strong biographical connotation as I use the materials to express that somehow I want to tie a piece of my life (time) onto a surface (space). As a Brazilian living in Munich, Germany, I have always lived between countries, cultures and languages, so that my artworks represent a fragment of my own Panta Rhei.

I am a Brazilian artist living and working in Munich, Germany as well in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Over the years I have been experimenting with several forms of visual expressions, from three-dimensional works to paintings.
