About The Artwork

This piece is made of burlap glued on a linen canvas stretched on a wooden frame. The whole is prepared, primed and colored mainly with oil, applied with a brush or sprayed with a toothbrush. Through this type of work, I try to create a thickness and depth to the painting, which I also generate through contrasts of textures and colors. The interest of this form of work is to make a living creation, reactive to its luminous environment and easily changing its aspect with the source of light.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My work results from a fortuitous but personal assembly of media : drippings, stencil patterns, sprayings, sponge printings and inclusion of materials and textiles ...   I use graphic resources stemming from totally or partially unwoven jute canvas, closely watching the effects on the textile when it is tautened or on the contrary gently slackened, or when its threads are brutally severed. I exploit then all the asperities, cavities, and outcrops of the prepared wefts and textures. I exploit the evocative power of this material, with the themes of the bond and the roots and the knot pattern. As a result, I sometimes let the jute canvas and threads follow their own natural expression. Thus, they often surprisingly restore gestures and dances. They may also simulate a proliferation of vegetal invasion, or suggest the waveform that wind or water flow would print if they were exposed to them. My very last works are inspired by air views, without any sign of human presence.
