About The Artwork

Inspired from my time in China, and my early influences from Warhol, Lichtenstein and the Die Burke artists as well as my study of ancient cultures and languages. The images are meant to transport the viewers into a unattainable story trying to figure out the language of the story in the background and the unfinished sections in the painting. I choose oil paint as my medium as I still make my own paint by pigments and raw materials allowing me to create works in colors that can not simply be found in a store somewhere. The subjects in my paintings are a combination of my time in the military and my travels around the world, trying to understand even the most basic parts of life. While my style is a mixture of the styles and techniques I have learned studying art with other artists and at art schools.
