About The Artwork
Titled 'Reflection of a Pelican,' the painting captures a serene moment of the lake in Forest Lake, where a lone pelican swims gracefully in the calm waters at the centre of the lake. The pelican's white plumage stands out vividly against the deep blue hues of the water. The rippling reflection of the pelican's figure on the water's surface adds a mesmerizing visual element to the painting. The surrounding vegetation is lush and vibrant, and the rocks at the edge of the lake are large and their reflection adds depth to the scene. Overall, the painting is a tranquil and peaceful depiction of nature, capturing the beauty of a solitary pelican in its natural habitat. This original painting ‘Reflection of a Pelican’ is one of the very few oil paintings I have done over the years. It is painted on a 60cm x 43cm and 3.1mm thick MDF board. It is framed with a 62cm x 45cm modern black frame that can be easily exchanged for a frame of your choice. This size painting can be a start to build up your own collection of smaller sized pictures as they are affordable dynamic collectibles and will enrich your home or office for many years to come. I am a visual artist based in Brisbane, Australia with a Bachelor of Interior Design from the University of Arts in Berlin and a Diploma of Visual Art from Bremer TAFE at Bundamba. My earlier works mainly focused on still life and realism, but my latest pieces incorporate abstract fluid acrylics with traditional painting methods. Despite both styles depicting the natural world, they convey two vastly different interpretations. My earlier work is meticulous and controlled, while my current pieces celebrate the untamed and unexpected beauty of nature. In addition to my artistic endeavours, I am also exploring Acrylic Pouring and Alcohol Ink as these methods lend themself well to smaller art pieces, making them more affordable and often collectible.
