About The Artwork

'Saturn & Ops' by Yuriy Zakordonets, acrylic on canvas Saturn is a god in ancient Roman religion, and a character in mythology as a god of generation, dissolution, plenty, wealth, agriculture, periodic renewal, and liberation. In later developments, he also came to be a god of time. Saturn the planet and Saturday are both named after the god. Saturn had two mistresses who represented different aspects of the god. The name of his wife, Ops, the Roman equivalent of Greek Rhea, means "wealth, abundance, resources". Earlier was Saturn's association with Lua "destruction, dissolution, loosening", a goddess who received the bloodied weapons of enemies destroyed in the war. Under Saturn's rule, humans enjoyed the spontaneous bounty of the Earth. The artwork connects to mythology, although it also has a contemporary symbolic reference to a couple 'frozen' in stone forever. The square acrylic painting is very balanced and has an amazing color palette. Patterns and graphic elements develop a sense of cosmic dust, particles and far away places so the subject feels remote in time and in space, like a fantasy story of love. Contemporary artwork mounted on stretchers (0.9″ depth). It is an original unique art piece that is in excellent condition (new). It is shipped directly from the artist's studio in Ukraine along with a Certificate of Authenticity, signed and dated by the artist. You will receive the painting ready to be placed on the wall so you can enjoy it in your own interior right away.
