About The Artwork
Morocco, its people, the colours and the light, landscapes, cities, villages and the buzzling life there, always has been one of my big inspirations. Everything still is soo different. Essaouira is a mistic old city on the Atlantic coast with a famous harbour full of small blue fishing boats. But also bigger ones. In january I was doing a 7day watercolour course in Taroudant, south of Marrakech. Before I spent some days in Essaouira to inspire the mystic feelings this place gives me. On top this place is full of inspirations: the city itself, the people, old doors, palaces, the life there, the markets and more. You will see more paintings done by me from Essaouira.

I am born in Augsburg, Germany. After finishing school I entered the German Air Force and passed Navigators Flying School at Mather Air Force Base, Sacramento, California. I flew on Tornados at Lechfeld Air Base, Germany near my home town until end of 1993. I had started to paint in 1986 and after a few years I decided to become an artist, so I canceled my contract. Later on I moved to Spain where I reside now in the beautiful village Frigiliana. You can visit me there at my watercolour studio in the old part of the village. So far I am looking back on more than 20 years being an profesional artist, experienced tutor and author of three books about watercolour. At the moment I am working on the next book about how I paint my watercolours.
