About The Artwork

Oil on canvas by Yordan Enchev (Yarden). On the right hand side is glued the following message in English and Bulgarian: "On the cold night of 15th of April 1912 during her maiden voyage in the North Atlantic the “unsinkable” RMS “Titanic” – one of the largest steamers at the time – went down its graveyard to the ocean floor after striking an iceberg. 70% of the total number of people onboard, which is 1517 out of 2223 were lost. And only 706 people (30%) were saved. The tragedy of “Titanic” is an amazing prophetic picture of this temporal world we are living in, symbolizing its vanity and futility, and the coming of the Judgment day. “I tell you ... unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:3, and repeated in 13:5) “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and confined is the way which leads to (eternal) life, and there are few who find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14) “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) All of the above quotes are the words of Jesus Christ. Your time on Earth is short, but your decision about Christ will last forever (it will have eternal consequences). You can pray this prayer, if it is coming from your heart and you really mean it: Heavenly Father, I am coming to You in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge I am a sinner and I need forgiveness. I am turning from sin and coming to You. Jesus Christ, I believe that You shed Your blood and died for my sins, were buried and rose from the dead. Now I ask You to come into my heart and be the Lord of my life. Thank You for hearing my prayer and saving me! In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen"

Yordan Enchev (Yarden) is born in 1962 in Sliven, Bulgaria. Since his childhood Yordan had two passions: The art and the sea. First he chose the sea, and his career led him to many exotic places all over the world. He was fascinated by the beauty and the vastness of the ocean and its horizon which draws the restless, seeking soul to explore the unfamiliar and the unknown, and making you think about eternity. After the fall of the Berlin wall he traveled to the USA. There he received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and in Him he found the peace he was seeking for, and the answers to all his questions. Now he has 2 passions again: Christ and Art. Artist's Statement: "I pray that through my art God would touch people's lives and His name would be glorified"
