About The Artwork

This dignified Boston Terrier dressed as James Bond is a dog named Archibald "Archie" Crisp. He resides in Mt. Lake Terrace in Washington State in the U.S.A. A loyal and dedicated companion to his boy Ben. Ben has autism and Archie has made such a positive contribution to Ben's development. This whimsical depiction of Archie is meant to bring a smile to your lips and lightness to your heart. This work is done with acrylic paint highlighted with an eye-popping bronze metallic acrylic on Acrylic Linen Paper.

My body of work includes painting, watercolors, acrylics and writing. Poetry was my first love creatively, which lead to writing fiction and non-fiction but something magical happened when I picked up a paintbrush. There is an intimacy staring at the lights and shadows connecting with my subjects and translating that onto canvas. The eyes, whether human or animal project their inner light. A painting can capture emotion purely and honestly in a way that words fail to deliver. It is an intimate experience staring at my subjects and translating what I see and feel from them with my paintbrush. Art is all about making you feel and it only takes a few moments to elicit a reaction if you look into the eyes of my subjects. Each person will see and feel something different and that is the beauty of art. Currently I am fascinated with working with acrylic paint, 2 dimensional art. Art for me is meditation. There is a phrase I learned in yoga, The light in me sees, bows to, honors, reflects, knows that same light that shines in you. I look forward to sharing this work and this light.
