About The Artwork
I was asked to take part in an exhibit simply entitled "Music". Having long been enamored of Shostakovich's Thirteenth Symphony, the Choral Symphony, I decided that this would be a worthwhile undertaking. The words I have edited down and are by Yevgeny Yevtushenko. This is really a single painting in five movements, as indeed, is the symphony itself. I have tried to interpret both the music and the words by the choice of color and lettering styles
