The painting is of the famous Scottish Mountain Stac Polly or Stac Pollaidh as it is spelt in Gaelic. It is an ancient extinct volcano. I climbed it as a child with my Dad, Mum and brothers. Whilst the slope was easy to climb once at the top on the saddle I got vertigo so I could not move up to the next small step of a few which was the chimney part of it. I would say I made it to the 'top' but not to the summit. To me the Mountain symbolises the challenges of life that is the things we must overcome in ourselves to be successful. I'm sure it will appear again in my paintings as the eternal symbol of life's difficulties.
