About The Artwork

Maurice Sterck was a Belgian artist who was born in 1907 in Moerbeke-Waas and who died there in 1972. He was a painter. Training at the Academy in Ghent under the direction of Coddron and J. Verdegem. Realized Wase and Kempen landscapes, farm views, interiors and flowers. From the press: 'The tranquility, the melancholy of the Kempen landscape with its endless distances, twisted pines, wide skies and meager huts, corresponded perfectly with its soft, poetic, somewhat melancholic nature.' Was a member of the Art and Knowledge Circle at Gent. Maurice Sterck (Moerbeke-Waas, 1907 - 1972) The dimensions of the painting with the frame are : H 71 X L 81 cm, in an amazing condition
