“Stories from Matthew. Flight to Egypt“ Print

This work in some sence illustrating the Biblical story "Flight into Egypt." Jesus' family is saved from Herod's order to slaughter the babies. In focus Mary with a donkey, Jesus with Joseph as if off-screen. In 2020, I experienced the loss of a sense of my own home, which is important to me. Therefore, I felt unison with Her, who left behind everything close and dear, squeezed the intangible remnant of the past dear to my heart in my palms, which set off on the road to obscurity. This is the focus on her character, for he is painfully clear to me. The animal is always a companion, as well as an alter-ego of people in my canvases. This is not a literal image of the legend from Matthew, but also not a completely separate story from him. Rather, it is a study of human feelings and sensations about the phenomenon of the house, passed through the prism of oneself and the biblical story. Painted literally in a continuous stream with great love and from a big heart.
