About The Artwork

Georges Seurat inspired this art with his "Sunday in the Park" I intended to do something similar to his masterpiece (which I greatly admire) and this came out instead. We all have our ideas of what would be a fun holiday. I hope viewers and children feel joy in knowing that all creatures can inspire joy whether in realty or fantasy. This art is painted in transparent acrylic with an airbrush and using a fine sable traditional brush for details.

I live in Tennessee in the U.S. and have been an illustrator for many years, mostly for children's literature. I started in fashion illustration and before long began freelancing and my art was commissioned for advertising, magazines and books. I taught myself airbrush and painting with acrylics. I love to draw and paint and I hope it shows in the original work that I am selling here. When possible, I have retained the originals of my work, making them available now through Saatchi Arts, some clients paid premium prices to be able to keep the original work. At the time, I had no idea that original work would eventually not exist when almost all illustration work would be produced digitally and only exist as digital files. I personally miss the days when the artist's touch showed in every artwork they produced, mistakes and all. Now it is difficult to to translate those things to paper. To see and hold an actual work of art that is one of a kind and will never be produced again is something that is fading quickly from our world.
