Beautiful fine art original painting on canvas with a nude woman & a blue bull. Blue and green wall art for home Interior. A lovely gift for women. Feminist painting. Original painting by Irene Makarova. My works are in many collections around the world. The painting is about femininity and eroticism. The plot of the painting reverses the ancient Greek myth about the abduction of Europe. But the main figure here is not Zeus who turned into a bull). It is not Bull that abducts Europe, it is Europe that abducts Bull. Oil on canvas Size: 60х60 cm (unframed) Depth: 2,3 cm This artwork is sold unframed. Irene Makarova was born in Moscow, Russia, and currently lives and works in London, UK. Since 2005, she studied painting in the studio of the Russian artist Konstantin Kaufman. She graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute in 2008, and then she took an Art course at Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after Surikov. She joined the International Art Foundation in 2008. She prefers to work in oil and often uses open colours in her artwork. Irene mostly creates expressive figurative art. The form and relationships between different forms and figures set a huge field of interpretation through different historical and mythological contexts. Irene's paintings are born in her inner world through observation and experience of the surrounding life. Irene's art was influenced by the pictorial language of the Russian avant-garde of the early twentieth century and the work of German expressionists, as well as by Bosch, Giotto, El Greco, and Modigliani. Irene has participated in more than 60 exhibitions in Russia and Europe. Her works are in private collections in England, Scotland, Russia, France, Italy, Spain, Finland, Switzerland, Portugal, the Czech Republic and the USA.
