About The Artwork

This piece has texture. The cave represents a human soul: dark cracks with hiding demons and bright open areas - the hope, beauty and creativity of every human being. Water–as the most important substance on Earth: so calm and comforting inside. The icicles–the "frozen past" and the exit in the top middle section–gives us a choice whether we would like to get out of the comforting safety of a cave and explore and see what else is out there. The abstract figure to the left of the opening into the cafe was a happy accident: i did not intend to draw it there originally but it formed in the process. Overall this artwork represents each one of us with all our secrets, thoughts and choices. We can always stay inside and chose a quiet life or try explore, travel, find things and try to look at everything from another point of view. Based on the combination of my dreams and the book Republic by Plato.

I am a 27 year old artists based of Eastern Europe but have been living in Hawaii for over 5 years. Oil painting is one of my passions together with surfing, hiking, reading, exploring the beautiful world of Hawaii. I love psychology, science, philosophy and art and try to translate it onto my art work. Over the years I have been looking for a way to express my view, my understanding of the world and after living in Hawaii and experiencing the nature at its most raw state, after pushing myself to the limits and climbing the steep walls of the mountains out in the wild I realized that my biggest passion is art.
