I was prospecting for jade up on the Eel River in Northern California during the late Autumn and as the sun got lower it illuminated the trees and river in gold and the shaded gravel riverbank turned a deep blue. At that moment Nature spoke to me in a singular abstract form. I did find some jade as well. I am most comfortable in acrylics whether for quick sketch or finished work, it has the body and drying speed and with some watercolor-like transparency. It can also well support the boldest of colors as there was that day.
