The End and the Beginning Print

"The End and the Beginning", is a 50 x 50 cm acrylic painting on canvas. Its title symbolically describes the main theme of the canvas. The main object of the composition is a bent, metal can with a flower inside, emerging from the gray mountains of a garbage dump stretching to the last part of the painting. The central elements of the canvas are presented in a realistic way and were painted from nature. I achieved the effect of spatiality by using the layered painting technique. The painting is a symbolic reference to the ecological catastrophe that threatens us as a result of the "overproduction" of garbage. Humanity is currently struggling with the problem of waste disposal. In the landfills of medium-sized cities, several hundred thousand tons of waste accumulate in just one year. The size of landfills is growing at a catastrophic at a catastrophic rate. Decomposing garbage releases biological gas, one of the components of which is methane, deeply destroys the soil, leads to the death of local flora and fauna. According to many scientists, methane is one of the culprits of the growing greenhouse effect18. The toxins spread to nearby sediments and poison groundwater. Usually the nearest bodies of water are toxic and dangerous to humans, and the soil is unusable for several hundred years after the landfill closes.
