Oil, canvas, potal This piece is painted on two canvases 50/100 cm. This piece is created under the influence of love for Dutch still life and flowers. I used my experience in photography for this job. As a photographer, i love the black and white picture. That is why in preparation I worked with photoshop in pursue of finding a synergy of color and black/white in a picture. After settling with style and proportions I transfered my idea onto a canvas. My choice to strengthen the idea of combining monochrome and classic pictures, was potal. Using gold in this piece gives the whole story dramatic and decorative features. The word symphony is used, because there is an apparent rhytm and repetetition of colors in the composition. Classicism is emphasized by using grapes, taken from Duthch school of painting. This piece is speaking about the combination of classic historical factor and modern methods in art. The idea of two worlds is shown, all of us are secluded in our own personal worlds(auras), which are surrounded by foreign space. Nowadays we strongly feel all forms of limitations and borders. This piece is devoted to the current state of art. Black and white territory is painted in a thin layer and that is where I use potal(gold), this part symbolises the new and unknown. The unknown always scares us, but also attracts interest. The part of the piece in color is filled with rhytm and harmony. It shows the parts of our lifes that are so common and reliable to us.
