In 1985 and 1987 he directed two videos recognized at different festivals. At the same time, he also exhibited his visual artwork in Buenos Aires (1989), Santiago de Chili (1995), Barcelona (1998), and Montreal (1999). He produced several art performances and the catalogue Macho+ Macho- (1990), "An Embrace for Chile" (1996) and the curious pilgrimage "La Paloma". After moving to Montreal in 1998, he created an artist's diary over a 10-year period: "Partir c'est mourir... In search of the promised land) (231 pages), published and launched in October 2010 at the MAI center. The National Library of Quebec holds a copy that can be consulted on the premises. In 2014 works from the catalogue "˜Macho+ Macho-' (produced in Chile) plus some wood engravings created in Montreal will be exhibited in Bogota, Colombia, at the invitation of the artists' collective Laagencia. Since 1998 has lived in Montreal, Canada, with his partner and the son they raised together, who is now 19 years old. They sought refugee status in Canada because of their sexual orientation and the risk of having their adopted son taken away from them in Chile. In 1999 they created a precedent in Canada as the first homosexual family to be granted refugee status. Today the three family members are Canadian citizens.
