The Pauliteiros de Miranda are groups of men who dance traditional rhythms from Miranda, in the north of Portugal, a region known as Trás-os-Montes. The name "pauliteiro" derives from paulito or stick. The Pauliteiros are the practitioners of a warrior dance characteristic of Miranda, called the dance of sticks, it is representative of local historical moments accompanied by musicians playing bagpipes
