The perfect selection Print

The perfect selection refers to a selection of nature where the rules are based on instincts and dominatrix skills. Where however the instinct is to survey, an intelligence gives a space for a soul and beauty, what differ us from animals. It is not a sensuality that differs us from animals, it is a skill of intelligence to make different choice and a will to make things happen. This painting questions priorities and quality of life. It search for a pathway that leads to an understanding on how to balance animosities and humanity. The scene is positioned into a peaceful rural landscape. The idealistic background image of a peasants life and a portrait of naively looking girl with butterflies in the foreground are disturbed by the dominant scene in the centre of the painting. This scene refers on a need for supplies and on the other hand, an absence of a sense, separation and childishness. As I was painting this picture, I was questioning my own integrity of how to deal with a personal struggle and grown up "professional" art relationships. It is a art politics and agencies of institutions in the local art scene that pushed me limits to explores ones personal space and limits. Thematical inspiration of this work comes from my experience from first years of my career, with a start as being an young art student and when I started to get involved with concurrence, sell, competition and relationships with people from art market. This artwork explores a field where relationships are based on co-dependency and one needs to define his/hers position and how to operate it.
