This painting is my tribute to our cultural heritage - the Khadi fabric. This fabric was first made in India during our freedom movement in the early 20th century. It was hand-spun and hand-woven. Khadi is made up of pure cotton or pure silk fiber. It is an expensive fabric! I created this artwork as a 'live painting' for 'Local Colors of Utah' - A Contemporary Art Gallery in Utah, United States. This painting can be hung both horizontally and vertically! Techniques used: Color creation, mostly using shades of red! Handmade strokes depicting the network of Khadi Continuous movement of canvas from horizontal to vertical and vertical to horizontal setting, in order to give a 'uniform' look to the 'pattern'!
