About The Artwork

The year we moved to the United States I was obsessed with my neon pink bike shorts. I wore them all the time with a variety of button down shirts. My best friend in Poland had a matching pair, perhaps wearing them gave me comfort at a time when I felt alone and overwhelmed by a new life in a foreign land. Nell was a Newfoundland puppy we got when I was in high school. It was love at first sight, she was my emotional support and I was heartbroken when she passed. In the background a blue tablecloth hangs, I still have it to this day. We brought it with us from Poland and I found out later that it had been embroidered by an aunt dear to me.
