About The Artwork

The spirit of the fields In my picture, I used the image of a motanka. Motanka is a homemade doll that was made not only for children's games, but was also used as an ancient method of visualizing the desired. Depending on the meaning endowed, the motanka changed its appearance. For example, this motanka has 10 hands, because its role is to help the hostess to do things. The name motanka comes from the method of making a doll, the method of winding pieces of cloth and thread around a corn head or a bunch of ears of corn. Petrykivka painting - is a traditional Ukrainian decorative painting style. In 2012, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine recognized Petrykivka painting as a part of the intangible cultural heritage of Ukraine, and it was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2013. Petrykivka painting has become a "brand" in Ukrainian popular culture Materials: Watercolor paper 250g/m, 31*38 cm. Gouache, watercolor and shimmering paints. the picture must be placed under glass with UV protection

Hello, friends! My name is Tetiana Savchenko, I was born and live in Ukraine. Grew up surrounded by rich folklore that leaves a lasting impression on the imagination. Based on the traditions of folk art and the work of honored masters of Ukraine, respecting the sacred meaning of the tradition of ornaments, I combine the past and the place, traditional Ukrainian ornamentation using new technologies and materials.
