The Venus dissonance collection consists of six works made simultaneously, respecting the same format, measurements and materials except for the composition and color palette. the support of the works deserves a separate paragraph, since your choice is accompanied by a personal story. Two years ago. While I was studying my degree in fine arts, I had a temporary job to cover my daily expenses; in this situation it was difficult for me to find my space to be able to capture my art. It was a difficult moment where I questioned how to direct my life and if I was choosing the right path, but, despite the financial difficulties, I managed to arm myself with courage and decided to leave that job to dedicate myself completely to art. In that crisis I saw an opportunity, in that job posters made of PVC sheets were exchanged daily, these sheets went straight to the trash. Seeing this, I decided to order them and make them the support of my works, giving them a new meaning by overwriting my story about them. In this collection, the PVC sheets are covered by yellow synthetic enamel, generating a smooth background that makes the material of the oil stand out even more, giving life and movement to the face, due to the plain contrast of the background. The model portrayed in this collection is Alma Lihuen Quinteros Méndez who has a personal story with me. I started the series while we were in a couple, I developed it during the relationship, culminating it after we both went our separate ways. Throughout the series of portraits you can see a duality in the color palettes and a different handling of oil depending on which work is being talked about in particular, this is due to the different facets of the relationship in which they were executed. Thus showing the changes in the personalities of both.
