I was inspired by a rainy day when I saw a group of drenched flowers clinging to life in the downpour. The beauty of the flowers juxtaposed with the dreary weather caught my attention and inspired me to create this painting. Process: To create the painting, I started with a blank canvas and sketched the flowers and the outline of the sky. I then began to layer on the oil paint, starting with the sky and gradually working my way down to the flowers. I then added more layers of paint to create depth in the piece, using a mix of purple, yellows, and blues to capture the different shades and tones of the flowers and branches to mountain the sense of misty weather. Goals: My goal was to convey a sense of resilience and hopefulness in the face of difficult conditions. By showing the flowers persevering through the rain, I wanted to inspire viewers to keep pushing through tough times and find hope in even the mirthless moments.
