When John the Baptist baptized Jesus, the spotlight was not on John but on Jesus. John, having played his part, certainly would have moved off to the side after the voice from heaven said "This is my Son Whom I love. With Him I am well pleased." This richly detailed painting captures that moment, where Jesus, having just been baptized is full of joy and ready to do the work God the Father prepared for Him. You can faintly see the Holy Spirit resting upon Jesus as His arms are wide open.

Born and raised in Wisconsin, currently I work as a full-time artist, creating artwork both on commission and to exhibit in shows. Acrylic paint is my medium of choice, and using a Renaissance-style glazing technique, I build up a rich, vibrant surface with several translucent layers beneath a meticulous surface detail. I also draw. I love doing figurative work--portraits and narrative depictions with an emphasis on Christian/ spiritual themes. In addition, I paint landscapes when I feel inspired by all the beauty around me in Northwest Wisconsin. My goal is to enrich people's lives through the art I do, to bring comfort, encouragement, and a sense of well being.
